The toll in detail
Driving from Firenze to Pisa. The route linking Firenze, in Tuscany, to Pisa runs along the A11 for about 84 km. It is the most direct motorway connection between the two Tuscan cities, and it is tolled for its full length.
For a car (Class A), the toll at the booth is €6.7, VAT included. This is the actual rate charged at the barrier, cross-checked against the operator's calculators, rather than an estimate based on distance: what you pay is the real charge at the exit booth.
At the booth you can pay by cash or card in the standard lanes, or pass through without stopping in the Telepass lanes if you have the device. Dedicated lanes are signposted at the entrance to the barrier, so you can line up for the right one in advance. Heavier or larger vehicles fall into higher toll classes and pay proportionally more than a car.
