Paying péage in France

French péage is paid at the gare or with a badge. It is not Italian Telepass, and it is not an annual vignette.

Télépéage (Liber-t, Ulys, Bip&Go, operator badges)

A radio tag uses the t lanes. The provider bills the account. This is not Italian Telepass, even if some European tags work under contract.

Bank card

CB lanes take chip cards and often contactless. Have the card ready before the barrier.

Cash

Still accepted at some gares, especially on closed ticket systems. Unstaffed cash lanes are shrinking: carry a card.

Free-flow (SAPN A13/A14)

No barrier: plate read or badge. This pack does not yet cite SAPN 2026 fares (brochure not retrieved).
